The CUI Institute is excited to announce the launch of our new CUI Fundamentals course which is available exclusively to CUI Institute members. CUI Fundamentals is the first course in our new series of training programs!

Taught by CUI Institute Co-founder Jim Goepel, this self-paced course walks you through the fundamentals of the CUI program, and is a great complement to the book CUI Fundamentals. It includes 1 hour and 40-minutes of video content, plus a quiz. 

If you pass the quiz with at least an 80% score, you will receive a Certificate of Completion, valid for one (1) year from the date you pass the quiz. You can link back to your Certificate of Completion on the CUI Institute site, which allows your employer, clients, and others to validate your certificate.

CUI Fundamentals is a supplement to, and lays the foundation for, the CUI marking handbook provided by the National Archives and Records Administration (“NARA”) and training (sometimes mandatory training) offered by federal agencies such as the United States Department of Defense (“DoD”). Since defense contractors must attend DoD’s CUI marking training, rather than going into details about how to mark CUI, this course focuses on:

• The history of the CUI program;
• Core concepts in the CUI program;
• Applying the core concepts in contractors’ businesses; and,
• Copying and sharing CUI.

This course is not intended to be, nor is it, a deep dive into the various nooks and crannies of the CUI program. Instead, it provides a strong foundation for anyone that has to work with CUI or around CUI, including government contractors and government personnel.
