Client Data Breach Incident Response Worksheet

Responding to an incident is very stressful. Your organization should define both an incident response policy, which sets overall goals, and incident response plans that address different types of incidents that can occur (e.g., natural disasters, data breaches, ransomware, theft of corporate intellectual property, etc.). One of the biggest threats organizations face today is the breach of their clients’ data. Well-designed policies and procedures will lay a good foundation for how the incident should be addressed. But your employees and others involved in the incident response should also carefully document the steps that were taken and data collected during the response. This worksheet is a template that can help your organization identify the kinds of data that should be collected, and provides a structured repository for its collection and storage.
